<notes>DIH - The hate EP

Notes by Andy N 31/03/2008

The Hate EP is a lost EP that was recorded originally in March 2006 as a interlude in the sessions for DIH's second full length album 'Suicide (I meant forever)' after Keith Hicc rang up me (Andy N) and said have DIH ever done any tracks about hate?

No - I can remember asking at the time and Keith's response was do you think you can record one or two for this comp on Hate.

So DIH being DIH, instead of doing just one or two, we actually recorded six in something like a night or two and then once I had done my bits, completely forgot about them as I got tied up in the sessions for ‘Suicide (I meant forever).

Sadly during the recording of 'Suicide (I meant forever) as documented elsewhere my PC died which caused havoc with that album and resulted in the total loss off 'The Hate' EP, which only surfaced again recently after a conversation with UK Dragon who e mailed me them over to me.

Listening to them again almost two years later in particular after the prolonged sessions for 'Suicide (I meant forever)' and 'Derek Jarman' EP, 'The Hate' EP does sound a bit weird to my ears, but it is a interesting recording at least from a historical aspect as it harks back to the earlier DIH recordings such as 'Forever' EP in it's harsher and wilder aspects but more importantly it's shortness.

Love to Keith and UK Dragon as always.
